English is a language that uses letters to represent sounds and phonics helps in understanding the relationship between letters and sounds. This helps children read. They learn to modify sounds and shuffle them to be able to create new words as well. 

Phonics is an important tool for children to develop reading fluency. Over time, children develop into fluent readers who can quickly recognize familiar words and easily sound out new words they encounter.

A child who learns reading through phonics will be able to easily hear, identify, and manipulate letter symbols with their appropriate sound.

Phonics aids children in recognizing regular patterns of words and connecting them for easier reading. Unfamiliar words are easier to decipher as children develop their phonemic awareness. They become more active with their reading, which also eventually promotes achievements in other areas and subjects as well.
